Because I like sharing ideas and edible presents when I can I will show you the candy sleigh idea first!
It comes from this blog Candy Sleighs!
For these you will need:
I would advise buying several bags/bars for at least 12 or more depending on how many you want to make.
Kit Kat Bars
Hershey's Mini candy bars holiday pack
Candy Canes of your flavor choice (they used regular pepermint and chocolate mint kind as shown)
Christmas themed ribbon (or whatever you think would work)
Christmas stick on bows
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks OR double sided tape!
The holiday pack of candies shown in the image may not be the same as the latest version of wrappers for the latest holiday pack.
YOU MAY need an extra pair of hands to help with this if using a hot glue gun.
First glue or tape two candy canes to the base of the kit kat bar.
THEN attach ten (10) mini candies in this order to make a candy pyramid.
4, 3, 2, then 1.
For example, 4 krackle, 3 goodbars. 2 hershey's, then 1 hershey dark chocolate.
You can switch up the order per bar. This is where the several bags come in because the mixture is never even in the bags.
After the pyramid is done, glue or tape the ribbons around the sleigh and place a bow on top. OR for an added twist a hershey's kiss holiday version or another topper kind of candy and place the bow on the side?
For this you need:
Candy canes of your choice/flavor
3 Tbsp of butter
4 cups of mini marshmallows
6 cups of crispy cereal name brand or store brand
red and green icing
m&ms and/or snow caps, mini reeses and mini reeses pieces or other small candies to decorate the tree
colored sugar (OPTIONAL)
baking pan
either wax paper, parchment paper or aluminum foil
large saucepan
mixing bowl
1. Get your baking pan of choice and lay down the wax or parchment paper or foil.
2. HAVE YOUR 6 cups of rice crispy cereal in a mixing bowl ready to pour into the large saucepan!
3. Melt the butter and marshmallows in the saucepan over medium heat until the mini marshmallows melt completely.
4. IMMEDIATELY stir in the crispy cereal into the saucepan and mix.
5. Spread the mix onto the baking pan evenly making sure they are 1/2 to 3/4 thick.
DO NOT LET THEM COOL UNTIL AFTER putting the candy canes in, in step 7.)
6. Spray a large cutting knife with cooking spray and cut out small triangles.
(its tricky but it can be done and save without making a mix. I would cut a trace line on the spread before fully cutting. As they aren't cooling yet if you make a wrong line it can be smoothed over and redone.)
7. Break OR CUT the candy canes into three inch pieces then insert them into the bottom of the crispy cereal triangle to form the trunk. If you insert it wrong and the tree messes up or cracks as its still not cooled yet you can reshape it and try again.
8. Let the crispy cereal cool completely on the counter OR in the fridge for about 30 minutes before decorating with your candy of choice.
VIOLA all done!
Enjoy and thank you for reading!
