I used the idea from this page Rainbow Slushie Idea. Slushies made from ice pops!
DO NOTE this is not for rainbow kind but as posted on the other blog it is made the same way
You will need:
Icepops*
a slushie size cup or even one from your own cabinet
one or two other bowls or plastic ware to crush the ice pops in
spoon and or a fork
* These are the kind found in a bag or a box in the juice aisle, OR if they have some pre-frozen. I would say the cheaper kind. HOWEVER if you want to spring for a different kind so be it.
Take your fork and smash up the ice pop to remove big chunks, try and get it as soft as possible.
Empty the slush contents into your slush cup of choice.
NOW if you are doing two or several colors here is what you do. Set aside the colors you want to use in the order you want to do them. Another link for the blog is the red white and blue for fourth of july.
When preparing the next color, put your slush cup -or bowl as seen on the link- in the freezer to prevent melting and color running.
Otherwise if you are not doing color mixes you are done! Here is an example of the finished rainbow slushie!
NOW for the kiddie snacks! This time its No Bake Granola Bars! AND Rice crispy Trees
Quick and easy almost like making crispy treats as I call them.Got the idea from here No Bake Granola Bars
AND HERE Alternate version of No Bake Bars and a third No Bake PB pretzel and chocolate chip bars.
The second and third use chocolate chips where as the first link uses mini reese's pieces candies.
What you will need:
2 cups of quick Oats
1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup of reese's pieces OR Chocolate chips
3/4 cup of chopped mini or regular pretzels
1/4 cup of crispy rice (name brand or store version)
1/4 honey
1/4 unsalted butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
baking pan (8x8 or prefered size where the bars can be cut evenly)
parchment paper or aluminum foil
sauce pan
Cut out the foil or parchment paper to fit the bottom of your pan.
In your saucepan combine your butter, honey and peanut butter. Use medium-low heat while stirring occasionally until the mix starts to bubble. Once it starts to bubble cook for two minutes while stirring then remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
Stir in the oats, crispy cereal, chopped pretzels. Stir until well coated then pour into the prepared pan/baking dish.
Press the mix evenly into the pan sprinkle the mini reese's pieces/chocolate chips and press into the granola bars either with a spoon or your clean hands.
Place the pan into the fridge for 30 minutes before cutting the bars.
Thank you for reading and enjoy!
