Using the idea from this blog post, Morena's Corner Ombre Glitter Glass Star
I used the circular glass stones. The stones I used in the previous post and this one can be found at Dollar Tree, or most craft stores. I have yet to ever find the oblong ones or the star ones. I gather they were a temporary run or just hard to find period. Yes I even looked on etsy even the sellers that have them are out.
Either it was a temporary run for those, OR they are that popular.
For the record, I did research on the term "Ombre" the literal definition is slang for the spanish word "Hombre." However its pronounced "om-ber" and it means a fade of hue from light to dark top to bottom or bottom to top dark to light depending on how its done. It can also be done in foods as often seen with the "ombre" cakes. Cake Wrecks Sunday Post Ombre Cakes
Anywho as I did not want to spring for double sided tape I used Aleena's clear tacky glue
I did it in sessions. Use a brush to paint a stripe of glue, lay down glitter, clean up excess and put it back into its proper container. Lay down another stripe of glue, glitter again, etc until its done. Here is the result of three versions of ombre I did.
As I had been wanting to do this and the cracked stones for a while this does not count on the no crafts for august because it was on the to do list. I have not uploaded these to my etsy nor will I until september.
Mostly because they are not ready. The ones shown here have the glossy accents glue protective cover on the back yet do not have the bails on.
(For the record there are three kinds of this glue by the same manufacturer. Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents and Matte Accents. All for crafting!
Thank you for reading and hope to be better and back in the blog grove soon!
