Cracked Floral Glass Stones (UPDATE 8/15/2013)

Along with this post Commissions Catch Up/Glass Stone Idea

I had wanted to try and do a version of this
Dollar Store Crafts: Cracked Glass Stones

This is what they would look like after the process
Basically set the stones in an oven safe baking dish.
Set the oven to 425 let it preheat.
place the stones in for 20 minutes
have a bowl with water and ice cubes in the bowl ready
once 20 minutes are up IMMEDIATELY place the stones in the ice water and watch them crack.

The neat thing is that the cracks are on the inside while the outside remains smooth. There may be some stones that the crack forms deep enough to fracture the stone in half but this is why you have several going. At worst you spend a dollar on one bag. Most of the floral stones shown can be found at dollar stores or for semi-cheap at craft stores in the floral section. I am still trying to find the oblong ones.

Thanks for reading!

UPDATE: Here are the pictures from my trial run with this.
On the right are the blue and green and smaller clear stones. On the bottom are the large and small stones. The right picture is also part of my painting and preparation for turning them into pendants process.
