How to make Iced coffee at home!

And this can be the iced coffee you find at the fancy coffee houses with star in the name or their at home versions for sale but its in how you prepare it.

This neat trick was found on youtube and I tried it myself and it works

Having watched this video this is true. Another lesser known tip for ice cubes for either water or most liquid, if you boil the liquid first then put it into a container or ice cube tray for ice it freezes clear. Hot liquids freeze even faster, weird but true and having tried both of these I can verify they are true!

For easiest preparation, make the cup of hot coffee how you want it, sugar or not, creamer be it liquid or powder. I do it this way THEN add the ice cubes. It works fine for me and cools the coffee down

Do note that as its coffee it will stain your ice tray but its an easy rinse off. This is my picture of me having just removed said frozen cubes and put four into my large cup of iced milk coffee. Two parts soy milk and two parts sugar coffee. On a seperate note I am lactose sensitive and its best I avoid whole milk unless I want digestive pain for the rest of the day. Daughter cannot have any cows milk at all. Its easier for me to just drink soy so she isn't tempted to want what I have as she is going through that phase.

This cup looks weird as the dark spot is the coffee ice cube but it does work, tastes great and can be made however you want, you can do this with flavored coffee or straight up black coffee.

The second half of this blog is based off of this video Quick and Simple Life Hacks Part One

There are 10 parts to this and I have tried a few of them. The ones I have not tried to verify -I am curious and must attempt for myself!

1. Warped Screw. Haven't tried this myself but a family member has. It helps if you have a wide enough rubber band to cover the screw head, it can be a bit tricky but once you get it, voila!

2. Make shift stylus for touch phones. I don't have a touch phone, smart phone or anything of that nature. I question this one because some phones will not accept a stylus or even fingernail and require that heat of the finger to work. Which also means the screen covers can be a pain because it hinders things even though it keeps the phone clean.  HOWEVER if you lose your DS/DS Lite, DSi/DSi XL and 3DS stylus this works very well. Haven't personally tried it but I do not doubt it would work. Also if you are someone that takes care of nails be it others or your own a blunt or rounded wooden styles works as well just be careful.

3. Olive Oil paint remover. I have tried this before, it takes a minute but works and doesn't dry your skin out. Keep in mind if you are sensitive skinned it is wise to wash off the oil eventually unless that too breaks you out, as it does me. Bother

4.Vinegar shower head. I haven't tried this, and instead have used CLR cleaning stuff or other such things. HOWEVER a cup of vinegar in your laundry works great to get out the ammonia stink of cat urine. It breaks up the proteins thus eliminating the odor and getting the stain out. Be careful not to use too much or your whole load will smell of vinegar.

5. Dirty Windows cleaned with soda. I haven't tried this nor will I. If the chemicals in soda are that kind that they clean things - as well as slowly dissolve - then I no longer want soda in my house. Easier said than done as that is a difficult addiction to give up yet still...does no one stop to think that...oh we are drinking a form of poison and chemicals!? Also even though it gets the windows clean I would gather it leaves a sticky residue.
6. Easier Trash clean up solution. This IS TRUE. I have seen some janitorial staff and others place a few empty unopened trash bags at the bottom of the can or line the trash can with several to save time and energy. Each time a trash bag is removed hey there is one at the bottom ready to be put in or already there. One just has to remember to either leave the entire roll of garbage bags or if you are leaving a few replace them every now and then.

7. Re-opening an envelope.  I don't advise doing this because its great if you accidentally goof your own mail, but it teaches kids to try it on other forms of mail. Ie I attempted many forms of this for that one bad report card. Its great ONLY for when you goof, NOT as anything else. DO NOT USE THIS FOR ANYTHING ELSE. Also it greatly depends on the type of glue on the envelope and if you have used your own glue or taped it shut then its a waste.

8. Dryer Sheet Mosquito Repellent. This actually works! really well. Just get a simple dryer sheet and try to avoid scented unless you like those kinds of things. And if you do, more power to ya!

9. Stinky Dish Pad. This works very well and is most excellent. Not only does it kill the stink it gets rid of the germs crawling in your sponge. Also if you don't want to microwave  you can run the sponge with a drop of soap under boiling hot water for a minute or dunk it in boiling water for a minute as well.

10. Alkaseltzer Toilet. I need to try this! Haven't yet as lately I've had to use the alkaseltzer for actual medicine or tummy troubles.

And as I like having some pictures to go along with my blog and sadly am short of proof pictures here is a Miss Lisa with bedhead
