Hobby Lobby Hilarity!

I just realized I mixed up Thursday and Friday's post. I'm sorry! The Pokèmon trivia was meant to be TODAY and this post was meant to be Thursday. Well, as long as its been put out that I goofed. :-(

Hobby Lobby Crawl of resupply venture. YESH!

As today I am going to a dr's appointment I prepared this in lieu of household cleaning tips. I apologize, and this blog will return to its normal schedule after today.

On Saturday 5/12/13 I managed to get to hobby lobby to use my awesome mother's day gift from my mother -  THANK YOU MOM! - a Hobby Lobby Gift Card! And being the semi-decent frugal and knowledgeable shopper I try to be I had my sales paper and coupons ready!
Only this time I went with skunk hat on because I like to be weird sometimes.

 Hey! I found bottle caps!

"Oh mah gerd, toy story and the rare Gen Four PONAYS! YESH"

Managed to restock my stones for my magnets, mini-stones for the necklaces, charms and so on. And found some stickers and lanyard clips. I found out its not badge clips i want its badge STRAPS. And those can be found at walmart! A box of 100 for about $20. A little known fact, although walmart does have good prices, if you are an employee or family member of an employee you are given a discount card that gives 10% off non grocery foods. Sodas count as food sorry. Otherwise its just knowing when they go through and mark things for clearance in their craft sections. Red stickers are clearance stickers and usually they have places for each section where the clearance items are dumped..er "displayed"

Well after my quick hobby lobby venture I made sure I left with some "medicine" in hand, which were marked 2 for $2.00 so I had enough to share!

Now this is where you might think the blog is over. Its not. Here is where I share bargaining tips. One such tip is that if you cannot obtain a sales paper from the store, or newspaper there is often online. Most if not all stores that have an online page post their sales paper for the week. From working in retail from what I could gather most stores got their sales paper for the next sales week in advance and would not show them until time. HOWEVER if a customer asked nicely we WOULD give next week's paper to them. There were no rules against it and it would bring people back that week for sales. So if you can and you want to, try asking for next week's sales paper in advance should you need it. This is great for most crafters so they can make the sales week and get the supplies needed. ALSO hunt those coupons. I am not an extreme couponer and all power to them however what I do know I use.

The downside to being an extreme couponer, you spend more time and resources for those coupons. Such as printing out multiples eats your printer ink, where do you think they get all those extra coupons (from the newspaper?) probably bought or raided them which in this case I am not going to say anything as i understand the need to do so but still. And then hoard/stash of food that they could probably survive on...I won't go into that. A lot of them spend time and resources to obtain and maintain such. Sorry, "I ain't got time for dat." I do go through my newspapers for sales when I can and the coupons i don't use, I give to my sister in law who can.
Its just knowing and being informed, knowing the tricks and when to shop, knowing when each store's sale week starts and when prices changes occur and the best times to shop. Best time for me being when its not so busy. Or for others when the sales are on and its crowded....I tend to avoid those as I cannot handle such crowds.

If anyone has any tips to share please pass it on! Thanks for reading!
